1. Brilliancy Image

Pristine Grading Certificate illustrates the actual light behavior of your diamond to reveal its beauty. In the brilliance image white areas are the brightest; a lighter shade of blue represents more light return than a darker shade. Black or dark grey areas have the least amount of light return. Check the image for the magnitude and the pattern of light return that appeals to you.

2. Girdle and Table

Girdle and table images show how well a Princess diamond has been crafted – no other certificate comes close to precisely describing the quality of the make of your stone. The shapes of the girdle and the table are obtained by direct viewing based on patented technology available only from ImaGem. Girdle image shows the quality of the shape, symmetry, and proportions of a diamond. The Table image shows craftsmanship, symmetry, and the alignment of the table with respect to the girdle.

3. Profile Image

Unlike other certificates on the market which show a standard Profile image, the Profile image on the Pristine Grading Certificate is drawn to scale to show exact relationship between table, girdle, pavilion, crown, and girdle thickness. Depending on the cut, show up to three crown and three pavilion angles – an exclusive offering from ImaGem.

4. Light Grade/ Appearance

Light behavior of a diamond is measured for brilliance, sparkle and intensity. Highly repeatable measurements – available only through ImaGem, are displayed on the certificate. An overall light behavior grade shows the quality of appearance or the beauty of a diamond. Light behavior is emerging as the most important feature that a consumer can understand and appreciate while making a purchase. Stones with excellent light behavior sell for a considerable premium over market prices.

5. Brilliance

Brilliance is one of three measures of light behavior of a diamond. Brilliance is measured as the average light return within the girdle in the face-up position.

6. Sparkle

Sparkle is used to measure scintillation in a diamond. Higher the sparkle value, higher will be the dynamic vibrancy of a diamond

7. Intensity

Intensity measures the brightest areas of a diamond that give it a distinct look, such as the hearts and arrows. A beautiful diamond shows a well defined pattern of light and dark areas that is pleasing to the human eye. ImaGem is the only technology to offer a measure of this characteristic of light behavior in a diamond.

8. Cut Grade

The cut grade is based on DFS technology developed by Mr.David Atlas and Dr. Lalit Aggarwal. It describes the craftsmanship and durability of a diamond. It is a perfect compliment to light behavior. Do not confuse ImaGem’s cut grade with cut grade from other labs.

9. Color

Color grade is based on an independent measure of color by GL3100 using patented technology and expert analysis. ImaGem’s color grade is guaranteed.

10. Clarity

ImaGem uses patented technology to view and map features in a diamond. We actually measure the number, size and location of flaws. Expert analysis is used to verify the results and assign a clarity grade.

11. Polish

Polish grade is based on a careful examination of a stone by graduate gemologists.

12. Overall Symmetry

Overall symmetry is based on direct measurements of “Axial symmetry”, “Table symmetry”‘ and “Girdle symmetry”. Patents secured by ImaGem means these measures of symmetry are available only on the Pristine Grading Certificate.

13. Alignment

The girdle and table must be perfectly aligned in a well made diamond. Our alignment grade describes how well the table and the girdle are aligned to each other. Because of direct measurement technology it is now possible to measure this important feature of a diamond accurately – an exclusive of Pristine Grading Certificate.

14. Fluorescence

The fluorescence grade is based on actual measurement of fluorescence in a diamond under a highly controlled lighting environment. Compare this approach to labs which use visual comparison with master stones for which there is no acceptable industry standard. Fluorescence grade on Pristine Grading Certificate is guaranteed.

15. Measurements

All measurements have repeatability of plus and minus 5 microns for all size stones – highest in the industry.

16. Clarity

Location and size of flaws is mapped using ImaGem’s patented immersion technology. Mapping is further refined by expert gemologists to prepare a pavilion and crown views drawn to exact proportions.
